Tournament Director - World Disc Games 2008
From Tournament Director Kevin Givens (aka Skippy Jammer).
I’ve been playing competitive disc sports since 1976. As a member
of the Modesto Mutants Frisbee Club the biggest highlight of the year
was coming over the hill into Santa Cruz for an annual tournament. That
friendly tournament evolved into World Disc Games and continued to be
not only a highlight of the summer tournament schedule. As a long time
participant and Santa Cruz local it is my pleasure and privilege to act
as Tournament Director of this year’s event. I have organized disc
sports for more than 30 years and have won 14 major freestyle titles.
My position of Intramural and Sports Club Supervisor at UC Santa Cruz
gives me the expertise and ability to run quality events. The emphasis
on this year’s tournament is to ensure a positive experience for
the players. I hope you can make it out to this year’s tournament,
it’s setting up to be another classic.
