Double Disc Event - World Disc Games 2008
Double Disc Court, also known as 'DDC', combines catching and throwing
ability with quickness, strategy, and communication. Each two person
team occupies a 13 square meter court that is 17 meters apart from their
opponents' court. A team scores one point for a throw that lands and stays
in the opponents' court. The opponents get one point if the disc misses
their court. If it can be arranged so the other team is touching both
discs at the same time, two points are scored. That is called "doubling" your
opponents. A common strategy for escaping doubles is to tip one of
the discs, then catch and throw the other disc back while the tipped disc
is in the air. The World Disc Games is bringing high-level teams for
fast action, quick play, and highly competetive Double Disc Court.
